What Star Wars scenes were filmed at Lake Como?
Villa Balbianello – Lake Como, Italy
Its most famous on-screen moment was certainly Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker's secret wedding in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. While the creators digitally altered the villa's exteriors for the film, you can easily spot the balcony where Padmé and Anakin kiss.
Director George Lucas shot scenes from "Star Wars" Episode 2 in the Villa Balbianello in Lenno on Lake Como. Lucas has hardly changed this location! You know immediately where he shot which shot. The only exceptions were the two dome-like buildings that you see in the film from the lake.
George Lucas filmed the scenes at the Villa del Balbainello in Lenno, Italy, overlooking the Lake Como. It was also the location for Anakin and Padme's weddings in Attack of the Clones. The villa was originally built in 1787 as a monastery before becoming part of the National Trust of Italy in 1988.
The stunning lake retreat is on Lake Como in northern Italy near the Swiss border. The summer palace is Villa del Balbianello, near the village of Lenno, about 15 miles north of the town of Como on the lake's western shore.
In the latter, the marriage between Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker was celebrated in the garden of Villa del Balbianello overlooking Lake Como. Since then, the business of weddings in Star Wars style, has increased dramatically.

By June 2000, Lucas and Hales completed a draft of the script, and principal photography took place from June to September 2000. The film crew primarily shot at Fox Studios Australia in Sydney, Australia, with additional footage filmed in Tunisia, Spain, and Italy.
He later added, “There's limited location work [on the series], but it's all within the L.A. area.” Most of the production for The Mandalorian Season 3 was done at Manhattan Beach Studios in California.
Filming began on June 26, 1997, and ended on September 30 of that year, primarily taking place at Leavesden Film Studios in England. Leavesden was leased for a two and a half year period so the production company could leave the sets intact and return after principal photography had been completed.
Filming had taken place in The Volume set, the soundstage in which the StageCraft technology is implemented, at the Manhattan Beach Studios. Scenes for Mapuzo were filmed on-location in California. Welcome to the Woods of the moon of Endor, also known as the Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park area, home of the Ewoks and the scene of the empire's final defeat.
In the movie, Death Valley was used the planet of Tatooine, and is home to many of the scenes with C3PO and R2D2. Whilst in the later film Return of the Jedi, Death Valley National Park was used as the scenery around Jabba the Hut's Palace.
However, denied the effects of today, the original films, shot a long time ago in a continent far, far away, had to look to the deserts of Tunisia for the realism provided by contemporary digital forces.
Where was Star Wars filmed in Death Valley?
Three and a half miles south of Furnace Creek is Golden Canyon, one of the park's most popular day hikes, where Jawas hid themselves before zapping R2-D2 with an ionization blaster in "Episode IV: A New Hope." My kids are about the same size as the school children who played the film's Jawas, small and dirty creatures.
