Was Harry Potter filmed at Trinity College?

Although the actual library used in the filming of Harry Potter is in Cambridge, England, this library is nicknamed the “Harry Potter Library” because it looks so much like it. We loved our time we spent here during our 24 Hours in Dublin.
The Jedi archives of the Jedi Temple in the movie Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones bear a startling resemblance to the Long Room of the Trinity College Library. This resemblance resulted in controversy as permission had not been sought to use the building's likeness in the film.
To see the location for Educating Rita, movie buffs can visit Trinity College, famous for the Book of Kells, but which also starred in a Bollywood blockbuster, Ek The Tiger. Northern Ireland stars brightly on screen with TV shows like The Fall and Line of Duty and big-screen blockbusters like Dracula Untold shot there.
The Library's history dates back to the establishment of the College in 1592 and it is the largest library in Ireland. Today it has over 6 million printed volumes with extensive collections of journals, manuscripts, maps and music reflecting over 400 years of academic development.
Hogwarts's library and infirmary
Oxford's Bodleian Library, which dates from the 17th century, is used as the restricted section of the library at Hogwarts. Bodleian's Divinity School appears as the infirmary for the wizardry school in four of the films, featuring its elaborate vaulted ceiling.

Cyriac's Church in Laco*ck Village and at the end of Church Street, you'll see a little private house with a blue door. This is number 21 Church Street and the original house used for Lily and James Potter's house in Godric's Hollow.

Why is the Book of Kells so famous?
One of the greatest treasures of its kind, the Book of Kells is an illuminated religious manuscript from the medieval period. Written in Latin, it contains the four Gospels of the New Testament and would have been crafted by the Celtic monks in the Columban monastery on Iona, circa 800.
The Liber Hymnorum (TCD MS 1441, late 11/early 12th century) is the earliest manuscript in the Library with a substantial amount of Irish. It contains devotional hymns both in Latin and Irish used in the services of the early Irish church.
The Book of Kells (Latin: Codex Cenannensis; Irish: Leabhar Cheanannais; Dublin, Trinity College Library, MS A. I. [58], sometimes known as the Book of Columba) is an illuminated manuscript Gospel book in Latin, containing the four Gospels of the New Testament together with various prefatory texts and tables.
Trinity remains extremely wealthy to this day, thanks to its royal benefactor and the land that he bequeathed. The land that the College owns includes: Felixstowe container port. Cambridge Science park.

Laco*ck Abbey was used for many interior shots, most notably Professor Snape's Potions class. The hallway is where Harry first hears the basilisk. Laco*ck was founded in the early 13th century as an Augustinian nunnery. Today the abbey is a quirky house with a variety of architectural styles.
The scenes filmed at The Burrow, the family home of the Weasley family, all took place in Devon, just outside the idyllic village of Ottery St Mary.
What did Dumbledore leave in his will for Ron?
Albus Dumbledore left Ron the Deluminator in his will, but besides it being useful for taking the light from a place, it was unclear exactly why he had bequeathed it to Ron… until he did something devastating. He abandoned Harry and Hermione on their hunt for Horcruxes.
The Book of Kells was regularly removed from its case to allow artists to copy from its pages, or to permit visitors, on request, to examine it at closer quarters. This was only finally prohibited from 1906, due to concerns about the security and preservation of the manuscript.

The Celtic Psalter is described as Scotland's Book of Kells. The pocket-sized book of Psalms is housed at the University of Edinburgh, where it went on public display in 2009 for the first time. The book is thought to be have been created in the 11th century AD, making it Scotland's oldest surviving book.
Whether or not you're religious, previous visitors agreed that seeing the "Book of Kells" in person is truly a sacred experience. Although some visitors complained of crowds in the library, most agreed the "Book of Kells" is a must-see.
What Bible was the Book of Kells based on?
The Book of Kells (Trinity College Dublin MS 58) contains the four Gospels in Latin based on the Vulgate text which St Jerome completed in 384AD, intermixed with readings from the earlier Old Latin translation.
One of the most sublime examples of medieval painting ever seen, the Monogram Chi/Rho page is the most important page in the late 8th-century Book of Kells, arguably the finest of all illuminated manuscripts of the Middle Ages and famous for the intricate swirling patterns of its Celtic art.

So where was Harry Potter filmed in Ireland? The magical Cliffs of Moher during a starry night are truly beautiful. There are two Harry Potter filming locations in Ireland – The Cliffs of Moher in County Clare and Lemon Rock in County Kerry: 1) The Cliffs of Moher on the West Coast of Ireland.

As you gaze at the Law Library building and the Law Quad in its entirety, you might just feel like you've landed at Hogwarts. You're not alone: this spot was even considered as a filming location for Harry Potter.
What is the long room in Trinity College?
The main chamber of the Old Library is the Long Room; at nearly 65 metres in length, it is filled with 200,000 of the Library's oldest books and is one of the most impressive libraries in the world.
While the movies were filmed almost entirely in Britain, one of Ireland's most famous natural sights play a role in The Half-Blood Prince: The Cliffs of Moher, seen from the water, serve as the foreboding exterior of the cave where Harry and Dumbledore search for a horcrux.
Leadenhall Market in the City of London was used as Diagon Alley in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, whilst the entrance to wizard's pub, the Leaky Cauldron, is in real life an optician in Bull's Head Passage.
The only real Harry Potter filming location in Ireland is the Cliffs of Moher. What is this? A cave at the cliffs was used during the filming of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. In the clip above, you'll see Harry and Dumbledore head off on a quest to find one of Voldemorts Horcruxes.
A notice on the Book of Kells website currently states that the exhibition will close “*ntil further notice”. “This is a precautionary measure to minimise the spread of Covid-19. The decision has been made to protect the health and safety of our visitors and the university community,” it states.
2. The Forbidden Forest. Ashridge, a 1581 acre country estate served as the filming location for many outdoor scenes in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Black Park, a 560-acre reserve used for filming scenes set in the Forbidden Forest during the filming of the first three Potter films.
Goathland Train Station, Yorkshire
Located in the North York Moors, Goathland Train Station was the filming location for the Hogwarts station, Hogsmeade.
Alcohol is not permitted in any residential building where first year students are assigned.
